The Dancing Man
As an artist, I am constantly being inspired. When my vision was better I would regularly attend art shows, many in the city. It was at one of these shows where I found my inspiration for the Fuzzy Wuzzy Design Logo.
I was at a stationary show in New York City in 2005. I was walking around enjoying all of the beautiful artwork when I was stopped in my tracks. I came across a display of work that was full of life, colors and love.
This was Keith Haring’s work – check out this link to learn more about him. http://www.biography.com/people/keith-haring-246006
I took one of his catalogues home that day and was totally enamored. There was one particular design that I really liked. It’s called the Dancing Man (pictured Above). I felt a real connection to this piece.
Keith Haring passed away in 1990. Ever since that day in 2005 I have been in love with his work. I decided I wanted to design my logo as a tribute to an artist who inspires me.
I was able to incorporate a big part of Fuzzy Wuzzy, which is Peace. Love. Spirit. Looking at our logo, you’ll see that the right hand is giving the piece while the left is saying, “I love you” in sign language. The body is in the shape of the sign for spirit.
This is a design that I am proud of. It’s nice a way of honoring an artist who inspires me as well as incorporating one of the mottos of my company.
